I've just turned on SkyGo on my laptop and I see an episode of 'Car S.O.S.' on Nat Geo.
The episode is the restoration (without the owners knowledge, but their family are all in on it) 1938 MG TA in red.
The owner has had it for 30 years and due to ill health the restoration he's put so much of his time and effort into has had to take a back seat.
His ill health originally was to do with his heart as he's had trouble since he was in his thirties. The thing is the restoration is now a little more urgent as he is now terminal.
I'm trying to watch the rest of the episode on what I would normally love to watch one of my favourite vehicles getting a proper restoration but with the underlying tone that this guy knows he's about to go anytime soon and is making it hard as I'm trying my hardest not to cry for this guy and his family especially as he's always wanted to do it himself before he went.
EDIT:
Well it was quite a task. Engine was thought to be okay at first but on closer inspection had two cracks in and had to be taken out and cold stitched. Roof was a complete goner and had to be recovered and steering column needed and installed (turns out a steering column from a VW Beetle is a direct replacement. All done in seven days with one very happy owner at the end. Who admitted that although he wanted to finish it, knew that he could never of done it. I hope he's putting on plenty of miles to make up for lost time.

That's sad. They always do these shows for the most deserving people.
